Silk flowers in Bourton in attempt to save water

Posted: 13/06/2006 08:40:05

Silk flowers are being used in in hanging baskets in Bourton on the Water in an attempt to conserve water.

Opinions on the decision seem to be divided, American tourists commented how nice the hanging baskets looked, before being told that the flowers were fake.

Martin Macklin, chairman of the chamber of commerce commented that the silk flowers are of the highest quality. A real hanging basket costs £30 and the silk equivalent is £70.
