Dine by candlelight in support of Earth Hour…

Posted: 10/03/2010 12:25:07

On Saturday March 26th 2010, The Priory Inn is turning off its lights for one hour of romantic dining in support of WWF’s Earth Hour campaign.

The Priory Inn, Tetbury - the family friendly hotel and restaurant is supporting WWF’s Earth Hour campaign and turning off its lights on March 26th at 8.30pm as a statement of support in the campaign against global warming and climate change.

Tanya Kelly, hotel director and co-owner says “WWF’s Earth Hour campaign is a call to action to the world to raise awareness of global warming and the impact it is having on the planet, by simply asking people to turn off their lights for one hour. They are expecting a billion people and places to do this around the world, including iconic landmarks from The London Eye to Sydney Harbour Bridge. Anyone can sign up and pledge their support online and participate in this celebration of our planet.

Environmental issues are one of the many reasons that we buy around 90% of our food from within a 30 Mile Zone of Tetbury, so we feel a strong affinity towards Earth Hour and what it is trying to achieve. Also, who doesn’t enjoy dining by candlelight – it’s a great chance to rekindle some romance over dinner or a bottle of wine!”

The family-friendly Priory Inn is the ever-popular heart of the charming market town of Tetbury in The Cotswolds. It has been operating a “30 Mile Food Zone” since 2008 which demonstrates its unwavering commitment to serving local food and drink from farms, producers and suppliers within a 30 mile radius of Tetbury. The very best seasonal Cotswolds produce is cooked expertly – but simply – and does not cost the earth! The house wine is served in hand-thrown pichets from a nearby pottery.
