The Easter Fayre brings spring to Dursley town

Posted: 08/04/2010 18:49:48

On Saturday 3rd April the team behind the annual Dursley Festival put on another successful event with the Dursley Easter Fayre. The event which was created to give local families and children a chance to celebrate Easter as a community, included circus skills, creative activities and stalls selling everything from cakes to cards, and jewellery.

One of the highlights of the day was the Easter Egg trail which had over 50 people take part, and all entrances received a chocolate chick. The overall winner pulled out the hat for a completed entry is Henry Gamble, a big egg is on the way to him.

With such a fantastic day, enjoyed by all, there is already a great deal of excitement about the summer Dursley Festival on Saturday 17th July 2010.

This year, as well as the usual stalls, amazing food, children/youth area, and local talent showcases, there will also be a great BIG TENT on the recreational ground.

But the event cannot happen without the community. The event is still looking for stalls (food, art, crafts etc), creative people and circus artists to take part.

With so much going on, more than anything else we need volunteers. There are a number of roles that help to make the festival possible and we rely on volunteers from the local community to ensure that things like the bunting goes up, and that everyone has a fun and safe day.

If you would like to volunteer or run a stall at the Dursley Festival 2010 please visit our website www.dursleyfestival.co.uk or contact us on 01453 545880.
