Sponsors roll up to support Herefordshire Diamond Day
Posted: 11/05/2012 11:32:09
Local businesses are being praised for their support of Herefordshire Diamond Day, which takes place on Wednesday, July 11, when The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will visit Hereford.
Already 20 large and small businesses have pledged their support by joining up to the sponsorship scheme for the day-long event, to be held on the King George V playing field near the city centre.
From hairdressers to housing associations, and from architects to auctioneers, a wide range of businesses have committed to support the right royal event.
Hereford-based hairdresser Peter Prosser said he was delighted to be able to get involved in such a high profile event.
“We're very proud to be able to be part of and support this excellent event which recognises Herefordshire's unique and diverse qualities,” he added.
Gabe Cook, cider communications manager for Heineken UK Ltd, said: "In our 125th Anniversary year, Bulmers are delighted to support Diamond Day in Herefordshire - a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate this Diamond Jubilee and to welcome The Queen and Prince Philip at what we are sure will be a tremendous event.
“Herefordshire Diamond Day will show them much that is excellent about the county and we hope that many other businesses will want to join us in helping to make this a marvellous day to remember.”
A range of sponsorship packages is available to allow businesses to become involved at a suitable level for them. Businesses wanting to get involved can contact Herefordshire Diamond Day organisers on 01432 260024.
Alternatively, sponsorship application forms can be obtained from the download section on the Herefordshire Diamond Day website - www.herefordshirediamondday.co.uk
The Queen and Prince Philip will attend the event - precise details of their visit, along with what is shaping up to be an exciting line-up of entertainment throughout the day, cannot yet be revealed. As details are known, they will be posted on the Herefordshire Diamond Day website.
The Queen’s representative in the county, Herefordshire Lord-Lieutenant, Lady Darnley, said: “I’m delighted so many organisations have already come forward to support this once-in-a-lifetime event. I would like to thank them all for their encouragement and enthusiasm for the day and I know we have even more sponsors in the pipeline.”
Billed as a celebration of everything good and great about Herefordshire, there will be non-stop entertainment including a diverse range of music and dance performed by groups and individuals from around the county, along with trade stands and eating outlets.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available and local companies, big and small, interested in supporting the event can visit www.herefordshirediamondday.co.uk to find out how to get involved.
