Two Arrested After Fire At Fairford School

Police have arrested two 15 year-old boys in connection with an arson attack on a school in Fairford.

At around 9.15pm on Saturday January 6 a member of the public alerted emergency services to a fire at Farmors School in The Park, Fairford.

The blaze was extinguished by firefighters, but not before it had caused extensive damage to an office and classrooms.

The two boys, who come from Cirencester and Fairford, were arrested on Sunday January 7 on suspicion of arson. They have been released on police bail until February 1 pending further enquiries.

Because of the damage caused to its buildings Farmors School has been closed today, Monday January 8.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact Cirencester police on 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 531 of January 6.
