Plymouth buses damaged

Posted: 15/01/2007 16:06:04

Plymouth police are becoming increasingly concerned at reports of stone throwing targeting buses in the city.

In the last thirty days twelve offences have been reported on Embankment Road at Prince Rock. Generally buses are subjected to stone throwing attacks causing damage and endangering the lives of the drivers and passengers.

Sgt Kev Morley at the neighbourhood beat office in Charles Cross police station said, “We will be increasing patrols and using a variety of tactics in an effort to identify the offenders. Anyone with information about this mindless damage can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. All road users and local residents can help us by reporting such activity straight away using the 999 system if its happening at that time”

Police in the northern sector of the city have received similar reports in the Miller Way area of Estover and will also be taking steps to prevent offences and prosecute offenders.
