We Are All Pulling Together For Community Safety
Posted: 15/01/2007 16:06:54
Residents in an area of Cullompton will have the opportunity to seek advice or raise issues with as many as nine different agencies and organisations on 24th January 2007.
Residents will be offered free home security checks, free fire safety advice and smoke alarms and encouraged to raise any issues of concern such as anti social behaviour, tenancy issues, litter or dog fouling issues, or health concerns. In addition problems of abandoned or untaxed vehicles will be addressed and the area will be tidied and graffiti removed.
Julia Ryder, Community Safety Officer said “Some of the residents in this area have reported anti social behaviour or experienced other problems. By the agencies working together in partnership we can address some of the concerns that have been highlighted. Residents will be offered the opportunity to have private consultations with any of the services available, either on the day or in the days following the event”.
Mid Devon District Council departments together with the local Police, the Fire Service, Social Landlords will be contacting residents in the Haymans Close, Crow Bridge, Crow Green, New Street and Lower Shortlands Road area, to offer services and assistance. In addition the DVLA, and Probation Service will carry out other work in the area. General information packs that include home security and fire safety advice will be made available to all properties in the area.
