Southwold was mentioned in the Domesday Book as an important fishing port, and it received its town charter from Henry VII in 1489.[citation needed] Over the following centuries a shingle bar built up across the harbour mouth, preventing the town from becoming a major port. (Source: Wikipedia)

The Kings Head offers three superb spacious letting rooms. There are two doubles and one twin on offer all year round. Room rates are listed below and are inclusive of a full english breakfast in the morning.
Avondale Guest House
Avondale is a Victorian terrace house built in 1894 situated on the sea front; we are within easy walking distance of town, pier and harbour.
Avondale is the oldest established guest house in Southwold. We have a lovely view of the sea, beach and Southwold pier. We have seven bedrooms, four of which have sea views with two back bedrooms and a ground floor bedroom.
