Stroud is a town and civil parish in the county of Gloucestershire, England. It is the main town in Stroud District. Stroud is situated below the western escarpment of the Cotswold Hills, at the meeting point of the Five Valleys, the town is noted for its steep streets and cafe culture. The Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounds the town in all directions, and the Cotswold Way path passes by it to the west.

Westly Farm Cottages
Westley Farm is an 80 acre hill farm where wild woods, banks of cowslips and orchids are rated of equal importance to the raising of cattle and sheep.
Our traditional stone cottages are spread over the farm and have rural views as good as any in England. You can just hear the distant bells of Oakridge church and see the houses peep out of the canopy of trees on the other side of the valley.
The unique village of Chalford is a mile away with its jumble of mellow cottages scattered down the hillside entwined with tortuous lanes and donkey tracks. Cirencester and Stroud are fifteen minutes drive while Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath can be reached within an hour
The Bear of Rodborough
In the historic south-west corner of the Cotswolds, high above Stroud on the wilds of Rodborough Common, stands the handsome Bear of Rodborough Hotel. Originally built in the 17th century, this former coaching inn provided a much appreciated resting-place on the main coaching route from Gloucester to London. To this day it offers a warm welcome to all.
Set in 300 acres of National Trust land, the Bear provides a luxurious retreat where you can enjoy fine food and drink while relaxing in a homely and friendly atmosphere.
An inspired location for country breaks at any time of the year, the Bear is ideal as a centre for country walks, visits to historic sites, a trip to the races or as a business venue. The nearby towns and villages are famous for their wealth and variety of antique shops.
