New gym makes working out easy for children

Posted: 23/04/2007 09:38:21

An innovative new gym aimed at helping children and elderly people keep fit and healthy has just opened its doors at Bourton Leisure Centre.

Cotswold District Council has invested £18,000 in converting and equipping a former meeting room as an Easyline gym at the Centre on the town's Cotswold School site.

The equipment uses hydraulic resistance piston technology, which offers a safe and easy workout. There are no weights, no adjustments and no pressure on any joints in the body.

The equipment is designed so everybody using it is placed in the correct position, reducing any risk of strain or injury.

Gym Manager Michael Squire said: "The new Easyline gym is perfect for metabolic training, toning and conditioning. It is especially suitable for children and the elderly but people of any age who just want a different type of workout are more than welcome."

The new facility is in addition to the Centre's main fitness studio, which has a range of resistance and cardiovascular equipment.

Classes are held in the new gym for adults and children as well as an after school Junior Easyline Gym Club.

The Easyline gym is open for 11-15 year olds between 3.30pm-5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with classes on Mondays and Wednesdays between 1.05pm-1.50pm.

Classes for adults are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.30am-11.30am.
