Cat shooting – Carterton
Posted: 03/12/2007 15:31:54
Police are appealing for information after a cat was shot in Carterton on Friday (30/11).
Residents of a property in Shillbrook Avenue found their white and tabby cat, called Angel, was very unwell when she returned home at around 11.30pm after being put out at 1.30pm.
After taking the cat to the vet, it was found Angel had been shot and a pellet was recovered from its stomach after an operation. She is now recovering well.
PC Robert Offord of Witney police said: “This cruel and callous act has caused Angel’s owners much heartache as well as leaving them with a £1000 vet bill.
“I am particularly interested in talking to anyone who saw someone using a B-B gun or air rifle in the Shillbrook Avenue area anytime on Friday. Even if you know of anyone locally who owns a weapon like this, I would like to hear from you.
PC Offord can be contacted at Witney police station via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
If you don’t want to talk to police and don’t want to leave your name, call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
