Property marking in Kidderminster

Posted: 10/04/2008 20:02:13

Police are holding a property marking session at Homebase in Kidderminster on Friday 18th April from 2pm to 6pm.

The session at the store in Spennells Valley Road takes place from 2pm to 6pm and will be run by PC Phil Green and CSOs Becky Edwards and Niall Ryland.

The session is aimed at customers who buy products from Homebase on that day, but the team will also be happy to property mark any other items they bring with them.

CSO Edwards said: "We traditionally see an increase in shed break-ins at this time of year, and will therefore be concentrating on items such as garden tools, lawnmowers and patio furniture.

"Property marking deters thieves and, if items are stolen, makes it easier for the police to return them to their owner."

Customers are asked to bring along proof of identity such as a utility bill, driving licence or passport.

The team will also be giving out crime prevention advice.
