Official Opening of Podsmead PiP
Posted: 15/04/2008 19:29:21
The new Police Information Point (PiP) in Podsmead, Gloucester, will be officially opened this Friday (April 25).
The PiP, which is in the Podsmead Neighbourhood Project, at Poets Corner, in Masefield Avenue, will be opened from 10.30am until 11.30am and the opening will also incorporate a coffee morning.
Everyone is invited to visit the PiP and speak to members of the Gloucester South Safer Community Team, including PCSO Sylvia Lane, at the opening event.
The PiP will then be staffed on a regular basis and PCSO Lane, who has recently joined the Gloucester South SCT from her previous post in the Forest of Dean, said she is very much looking forward to getting to know members of the Podsmead community along with her colleague PCSO Lee Hutton.
She said: "I have been a PCSO for almost two years and have been working in the Forest of Dean based at Cinderford.
“Although this is a new posting for me I did live in Tuffley for over 30 years so I am very familiar with the area and it’s wonderful for me to be able to serve the community in which I lived for so long.
“We would encourage members of the public to come along to the PiP and have a chat and discuss with us any concerns or problems you may have.
“If you are not able to come at the advertised times there are some forms on the reception desk where you can write down anything you wish to bring to our attention and pop them in the box which is on the board. Or if you see us out and about then please come and say hello and have a chat with us then.”
After this Friday's opening the Podsmead PiP will open during the following dates and times:
Thursday May 1 - 10.00am to 11.00am Monday May 12 - 2.00pm to 3.00pm Wednesday May 21 - 10.00am to 11.00am Friday May 30 - 11.00am to 12.00noon Wednesday June 04 - 2.00pm to 3.00pm Tuesday June 10 - 9.30am to 10.30am Friday June 20 – 10.00am to 11.00am Thursday July 10 - 2.00pm to 3.00pm Monday July 21 - 9.30am to 10.30am Wednesday July 30 - 10.00am to 11.00am
