Neighbourhood update for Abingdon Town
Posted: 23/06/2008 19:01:05
Neighbourhood update for the area of Abingdon Town, including Peachcroft, Audlette Drive, Radley Rd and Daisy Bank – May 2008.
The neighbourhood team has been tackling anti-social behaviour and underage drinking around the Peachcroft area. The team confiscated large amounts of alcohol as part of the clamp down following the monthly police surgery held on 8 May at the Peachcroft Christian Centre.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Sue Bradshaw visited Rush Common School on 21 May to give a presentation as part of the school’s “Walk to School week”. She spoke to pupils about keeping safe whilst walking and cycling to school.
North Abingdon’s first youth club for older youths was opened on 22 May. The opening of “Club 15219 Café” was attended by the neighbourhood team and the first evening was deemed a fair success.
The first police surgery held by PC Keith Morton and PSCO Bradshaw in the Hadland Road Community Centre on 31 May was very well attended. Its success led to surgeries being booked every month for the next year.
