Police Invite Residents To Voice Their Views
Posted: 16/07/2008 01:17:34
Cirencester Police are offering local residents the opportunity to air their views in a new format this weekend – a video diary room at the station.
Following in the footsteps of television shows like The X Factor and I’m a Celebrity, a private space will be open to those who wish to air their views about local policing issues in front of a video camera.
Police Constable Jon Palfrey, who came up with the idea, said: “Following the success of the diary room concept we trialed at the Cotswold Show, we have decided to hold another session at the station.
“It should give those who baulk at the idea of filling in survey forms, or who think they can communicate their views better by talking about them, an opportunity to express themselves without interruption.
“Officers will review the tape afterwards and use the information to help determine our policing priorities.
“I’m hopeful that the day will be a great success and that people will turn up to make a practical contribution to a safer community,” he said.
The event will take place at Cirencester Police Station in the Forum, Cirencester, between 10.00am and 2.00pm on Saturday, July 19th.
