Brewery to host safety seminar
Posted: 25/09/2008 00:15:54
West Oxfordshire District Council is aiming to make sure that the pint in your local gets from the brewery into your glass in the safest way possible.
Working with the Health and Safety Executive all the Oxfordshire district councils are holding a health and safety training event for breweries, drinks delivery firms and the licensed trade.
The event, called Moving Goods Safely, will cover training in both manual and mechanical handling with the aim of reducing injuries and ill health caused by moving heavy goods around.
Cllr David Harvey, Cabinet Member for Environment said, “We hope that all those with a professional connection to the brewing trade will take the opportunity to attend this event. Health and Safety at work is vitally important and this is a chance to hear from some of the industry's leading companies in the health and safety field.”
The all-day event will take place at the Hook Norton Brewery, Brewery Lane, Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, OX15 5NY on 15th October. The cost is £30. Lunch and a tour of the brewery are included.
