Colwall residents can’t wait for bridge to open

Posted: 07/05/2009 21:08:51

Colwall residents packed into a special exhibition held on Tuesday (May 5), jointly run by Herefordshire Council and Network Rail, to explain how the traffic system will work over the new bridge.

More than 100 people came to the event at Colwall Library when officers from Herefordshire Council and Network Rail were on hand to answer questions.

Richard Ball, Herefordshire Council’s assistant director environment and culture, said: “We organised this event jointly with Network Rail to let residents know what is planned for the new bridge and to keep them up-to-date on progress.

“Most people who came along wanted to know when the bridge would be open and said they couldn’t wait until June 26 when the scheme is due to be complete.

“The majority who came along were also supportive of the new one-way traffic system which will be in place over the bridge,” he added.
