Carterton Neighbourhood Management Update - April
Posted: 07/04/2011 11:25:45
Youth Provision The Youth Service is awaiting the outcome of funding, particularly in Carterton. The town councils, police and local clubs are meeting regularly in an attempt to find alternative premises and provision for the young people of Carterton. However, there is some better news for Bampton where it is hoped that the Monday evening session will continue until the end of August. Burford does not have any youth provision at this time. Speeding The team carried out speed checks on the Clanfield to Bampton Road, Upavon Way and Milestone Road in Carterton. The results show that in Clanfield there is a problem and the team is working with the Parish Council and Highways to try and find a solution. We now have access to a Roads Policing Officer who will be assisting us with speed enforcement and other operations. Dog Fouling/Litter West Oxfordshire District Council and Carterton Town Council are being informed of areas of concern. However, the litter pickers do a very good job in keeping most areas clean and tidy throughout the neighbourhood. One of the issues is the cost of the bins, both litter and dog bins, together with the cost of emptying them. Other News A man has been charged with the theft of lead from St John’s Church in Carterton. A special welcome goes to Special Constable, Phil Dowsen who has joined us in the Carterton Neighbourhood Policing Team.
