New Play Rangers sessions in West Oxfordshire
Posted: 27/04/2011 13:34:27
West Oxfordshire''s Play Rangers are visiting three new locations to encourage children and young people to get active outdoors. The Play Rangers project aims to get 5 to 16-year-olds playing outdoors and making the most of their local parks and recreation grounds. Free sessions have been held in different locations since the project started in West Oxfordshire in 2008. This spring and summer, sessions will be held at: Bampton - Pembroke Place Play Area, every Tuesday from 3.30pm to 6pm Charlbury - Nine Acres Recreation Ground, every Monday from 3.30pm to 6pm Eynsham - Oxford Road Playing Field, every Thursday from 3.30pm to 6pm Stonesfield - Recreation Ground, Field Close, every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 6pm Stonesfield is a continuing session, partly funded by the Parish Council, and the sessions in Bampton, Charlbury and Eynsham are new. The Play Rangers scheme is managed by Oxfordshire Play Association and funding has come from a Big Lottery Fund grant obtained by West Oxfordshire District Council along with support from Oxfordshire County Council. All sessions are free, however parents remain responsible for their child/children throughout the sessions. For more information, see the Oxfordshire Play Association website, www.oxonplay.org.uk or call the Play Rangers on 07515 191724.
