West Oxfordshire District Council has successfully prosecuted a Carterton man for failing to notify a relevant change in his circumstances in order to obtain benefits.

Mr White was given a twelve month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £200.00 costs. The Council will seek to recover the full amount of Housing and Council Tax Benefit which had been fraudulently obtained. The Department for Work and Pensions will seek to recover the full amount of Incapacity Benefit fraudulently obtained.
