Woodstock Neighbourhood Team monthly update - Jan
Posted: 08/01/2007 11:50:00
Sgt David Yates gives us his first update: “Woodstock Neighbourhood Police Team has seen one Acting Sergeant leave and a new Sergeant move in. The team have said goodbye to Alan Robinson and thanked him for all his work and have welcomed me to the team. I’m coming to Woodstock after being stationed at Thame and I look forward to meeting the members of the community and working with my new colleagues.
“The Neighbourhood Action Group has welcomed a new member from Combe and it has also attracted interest from a resident from Long Hanborough. It goes without saying that if anyone is interested in joining the Action Group, as it endeavours to improve the quality of life in our community, then please contact them.
“A few licensed premises in our area have had another visit from the Test Purchasing Unit at the West Oxfordshire Safer Communities Partnership. They keep a check on any under-age drinking in licensed premises and found one public house in our area guilty of this action. The licensee was given a fixed penalty notice of £80.
“An intelligence gathering operation using our own Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) in Long Hanborough produced 11 hits on vehicles that had notices outstanding on them. They were pulled over and details were taken.
“Hi-visibility is still being given a high priority by your Neighbourhood Team and crime appears to have been low this past month.
“As stated in last month’s issue, parking in Woodstock is now being enforced, after the Neighbourhood Action Group’s campaign of giving educational leaflets to drivers of vehicles parked inappropriately has ceased. Twelve fixed penalty tickets have been issued and the team will continue to enforce as vigorously as possible.
“We all hope everyone had a good Christmas and look forward to the New Year with continued enthusiasm.”
