Free sessions to help research roots
Posted: 10/01/2007 02:51:54
Free sessions aim to help residents make a start on researching their roots
Residents who may have set themselves a New Year’s resolution to trace their family history are being offered a helping hand from the County Council.
People can make a start on delving into the archives at Worcestershire History Centre every Wednesday morning this month (January).
Free half hour sessions between 10am and 1pm are available for people wanting to make a start on finding their ancestors. Staff will be on hand to help visitors research their roots and explain how to use the facilities.
Worcestershire History Centre Manager, Paul Hudson, said: “Now is a popular time for people to start tracing their family history. Of course, people can visit the history centre anytime, but by providing these sessions this month, we hope to give people the confidence to drop by and make a start on tracing their ancestors.”
Places can be booked by visiting Worcestershire History Centre, Trinity Street, Worcester or by calling 01905 765922.
