Spate of thefts from vehicles Bicester
Posted: 12/01/2007 18:03:05
Police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of thefts from vehicles in Bicester. All the incidents happened overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday (9/1-10/1).
Tools were stolen from vans on Ray Road, Shannon Road and Kings End by smashing windows, and on Rectory Close offenders cut the rear window out of a van and stole tools.
On the A34, Weston-on-the-Green, the rear doors of a lorry were forced and mattresses were stolen.
Police believe the incidents could be linked.
PC Ian Bailey from the Banbury Priority Crime Team, said: We are investigating these thefts and I appeal for anyone who has information to come forward.
If you transport tools in your vehicle then remove them when it is unattended or secure them as best as you can using locks and safes.
These crimes have had a dramatic effect on the owners, as the loss of their tools can have a huge impact on their livelihoods.
If you have information please contact PC Bailey via 0845 8 505 505. If you do not wish to speak to police or give your name you can contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
